Natural Structures Project

This is a selection of 6 out of 10 canvas works about the formation of natural structures. This fascinating phenomenon is ubiquitous, often aesthetically pleasing, and is also studied in many areas of science. On the one hand, my project is based on my own artistic experiences, for example with the formation of soap suds and the mixing of oil and paint. On the other hand, I process my own photo material, showing, for example, the erosion of rocks or the growth of lichens. First I record the structures artistically in sketches and small format works before  later bringing them on the one meter by one meter canvases shown below. Texture, composition, color and abstraction are also of great importance.
